Charter Council

Charter Council

Blue Oak Charter School is governed by a seven-member Charter Council with three parent representatives and four community members, chosen in accordance with the bylaws of Blue Oak Charter School.  Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM.

The Blue Oak Charter Council (BOCC) is the entity which is held accountable for the operations of the school. It is the responsibility of the Charter Council to develop policies and put them in writing, so they serve as guidelines and goals for the successful and efficient functioning of the school.

Election Process

Blue Oak is now accepting applications for two community seats. All community members are invited to apply!

To qualify for a Community seat, you may not have a child, stepchild, or child of a partner/significant other who is enrolled at Blue Oak School. Grandparents, extended family, or any community member interested in supporting education are welcome to apply.

The Charter Council members will vote at the next BOCC meeting following the submission of your application. If you are interested in applying for the position, please see the attached application. A completed application and attachments will need to be submitted to the Executive Assistant, Alex Archer.

Should you be elected, your term will begin at first regular board meeting of the year to be held in September 2023. All seats serve a 3 year term.
