Alert for parents of current 6th grade students for 7th grade entry commencing August 2016
California state law requires all entering 7 th grade students to provide proof of ALL state
required immunizations before the FIRST DAY of 2016-17 school year. Last year SB277 went into effect. All students entering 7 th grade will need to be current on all of their immunizations in order to attend school.
Do ALL entering 7th grade students need to get vaccines even when they have a Religious or Personal Beliefs Exemption already on file?
Yes. Unless they have a Medical Exemption, all students going into 7th grade must have proof of ALL state required immunizations. You can find a list of required
immunizations at www.shotsforschool.org , your physician or at our health office. This includes current students, new students and transfer students in public, private and charter schools.
Many students have already received these vaccines and simply need to supply proof to the school, so check with your doctor or provider. Under current law, schools do not have the option to provide a grace period. All entering 7th grade students will need to
show proof of required immunization or submit a Medical Exemption before starting the 2016-17 school year or they will not be able to attend the first day of school.
Please send a copy of your shot record to health office (Rest & Recovery) when it is
completed as your child will not be allow to attend the first day of school without it.
